Pantai Merdeka: Overview

The resort is located about 40 minutes from the city center. To travel with your own transportation to this beach must go through the Butterworth Federal Highway Route. Tourists must get through the Tikam Batu Town and Kota Kuala Muda Town before arriving at Merdeka Beach. There are various facilities available here such as bus stops, chalet, public toilets, food courts and hawker stalls. The resort also offers leisure facilities for the whole family. Tourists can swim, camping and kayaking activities at this beach. There are boat services for tourists to go to Tanjung Dawai.

Pantai Merdeka merupakan pantai percutian yang terletak di tanah besar negeri Kedah. Ia terletak di Daerah Kuala Muda, 60 km ke selatan Alor Setar dan terkenal sebagai pantai percutian dan perkelahan bagi penduduk tempatan dan negeri-negeri berdekatan seperti Pulau Pinang dan Perak Utara. Kemudahan-kemudahan yang terdapat di sini termasuklah rumah penginapan calet, rumah rehat, tempat perkhemahan, kolam renang dan tempat-tempat makan.

Berhampiran dengan pantai tersebut terdapat perkampungan nelayan seperti Tanjung Dawai, Telok Nipah dan Kampung Pulau Sayak yang juga menjadi tempat tarikan pelancong terutamanya pada hujung minggu.

What are activities you can do at Pantai Merdeka, Sungai Petani?

The long sandy beach of Pantai Merdeka is popular among locals and is a great place to relax, have a picnic with the family or try your hand at some watersports. It can be reached via the Sungai Petani South Exit Highway Toll and is about 28km away. From the beach, visitors can also hop onto a boat and take a short trip over to Tanjung Dawai, which is located across the river. Rushing through this corner of Kedah is the last thing you need to do, so if you’re finding it rather tough to peel yourself away, there’s always the Resort to retire to for the night.
