Cactus Point is a massive, vibrant plant bazaar and one of the oldest established nurseries in the Cameron Highlands plateau. Situated right along the bustling main road between Brinchang town and the famous Kea Farm Market, this sprawling greenhouse complex is highly popular because it is entirely free to enter. Swept by cool mountain air, the spacious covered facility functions as a combined botanical show garden and a wholesale shopping arena. It serves as a fantastic, budget-friendly pit stop for families, road-trippers, and plant hobbyists alike.

Stepping through the main gates brings you face-to-face with an incredible, desert-style wonderland packed with thousands of cacti and succulents of every conceivable shape, texture, and size. The centre displays feature everything from giant, spiky green towers to rare blooming varieties and colourful miniature “baby” cacti. Moving to the flanking wings reveals a massive nursery stock of cool-climate flora, including brilliant orchids, hanging ferns, Venus flytraps, and delicate air plants. Most items are explicitly grown for sale at very cheap farm-direct prices, with small starter pots often priced in multi-pot bundle deals. Location: Brichang Cactus Point is more of a retail nursery, with a very small, but nice exhibit of large specimens. It is located further up the Cameron Highlands plateau, a few miles beyond Brinchang.

You would notice that its main attraction is in the center where all the various cactus plants are placed prominently. On the left is a section for all the popular flowers and on the right a small section of strawberry. All of them are for sale, including the miniature cacti as souvenirs. They are easy to care for. Cameron Lavender is a show garden between Tringkap and Kuala Terla, about 4km north of Kea Farm in Brinchang. One of the more recent attractions in the highlands, the garden features a beautiful lavender field with an assorment of other continental flowers on display, fringed with colourful statues and objects inspired by European countryside scenery. You get to enjoy the scene of beautiful Hokkaido lavender and Mona Lavender farm in super small scale. A little similar to Lavender Cottage in Xinshe, Taiwan too, with plenty of room of improvement if we were to compare.

You can see Flowers Garden (self-pick flower is available) at Lavender Park Cameron Highlands Malaysia, Cafe, Souvenir Shop, Strawberry Farm and Shop (self-pick strawberry is available). LOVE corner for loving notes and locks Panda set up photo booth Lavender Castle.

Within the compound, there is a small market for souvenirs, merchandise and souvenirs, while the garden has its own product store and a cafe on a viewing deck at top floor, serving lavender-infused meals including cakes and drinks. Details about Lavender Park Cameron Highlands Malaysia – one of the most talked about tourist attractions in Cameron Highlands. Pay for entrance ticket RM8 (price as per Feb 2017) and you get to enjoy the scene of beautiful Hokkaido lavender and Mona Lavender farm in super small scale. A little similar to Lavender Cottage in Xinshe, Taiwan too, with plenty of room of improvement if we were to compare.

How to go Cameron Lavender: It is along the main road from when you are coming up from Tanah Rata – Brinchang – Keafarm -Tringkap. When you see Butterfly Farm – Cameron Square Mall – Ee Fung Gu Bee Farm on your right, then Cress Water Farm, continue to drive for like 10 minutes. The big signage of Lavender Garden will be on your left. Hardly miss.

Lavender Park Cameron Highlands Malaysia started with lavender from Hokkaido Japan and then Mona Lavender. There’s some Taiwan lavender near to the slope path, but not blooming nicely, probably due to the season. Purple, red and yellow plants along the way can frame up to really beautiful pictures but sadly, they block the best photo spot with a “pay money we take photo for you” booth. Typical tourist place. There is a small path visitor can walk into. Just, we felt the corner is rather difficult to get desired angle.

Must do when in Lavender Park Cameron Highlands Malaysia – buy lavender ice cream and take photo with lavender flowers as background. RM6 for a cone. Strawberry flavour is available too. Walking up the slope, we were welcomed by a larger space with countless sunflowers. 3D mural art that adds fun to your Cameron Lavender Garden trip. There’s strawberry and vegetable farm further down but we didn’t pay a visit as it was raining heavily. There’s also a small cafe for drink and cakes, not impressive though.

Worth a visit? OK la. Afterall the entrance fee isn’t that expensive, can go in once but will not return. Pretty good for family activities when in Cameron Highlands.

Cactus Valley is a botanical show garden nestled on a hill slope overlooking Brinchang town center, featuring a large collection of cacti, flowers and ornamental plants of various shapes, colours and sizes. The park can be reached quicky on foot from anywhere in Brinchang town. If following the main road, turn left immediately after Star Regency Hotel (the Brinchang night market site will be opposite the hotel).

Honeybee Farm Cameron Highlands – Cameron Bee Farm Garden is a cradle for our [1 million] bee residents. All pesticides are stopped at the doorstep so that our bees and flowers can grow in a healthy environment. As a result, our garden retains a distinct ruggedness. Be it other insects’ occasional cheeky weed, we invite you to uncover the special little details in our garden honeybee’s natural habitat. Remember, don’t pick fruits!

Worker Bee

We have two sets of chromosomes and were produced from an egg from the Queen, there’s roughly about 60,000 of us in one family. We have many duties starting from cleaning our little room after eating through our capped brood cell, feed brood, receive nectar, clean hive, guard duty and foraging. Some of us also have a specialized duty, including removing dead bees from inside the hive.

Drone Bee

We have one set of chromosomes and exist for the purpose of reproduction. We are produced by the queen if she chooses not to fertilize an egg or by an unfertilized laying worker. It takes 24 days for us to develop, and all of us were born from summer through to autumn, there’s about 500 of us in one family. We will be expelled from the hive during winter months, to keep the hive warm and preserve the food for the youth and needed. We cannot defend the hive or kill intruders because we are born without a stinger

Queen Bee

I am the most important part of this family, carrying the only role to lay fertilized eggs. My ability to produce a lot of eggs, up to 2.000 eggs on a single day is a determination of a strong family. I mate with drone bees early in life and store up millions of sperm in my boy, and I live about 5 years but only two to three years of my life for reproduce eggs. When there is another queen bee born, we will fight for the crown and the one who lose will need to leave and hive and form a new family.

Walk among flowers and bees

No entrance fee is charged to visit its farm. One will find various kinds of flowers with bees roaming around. But do note that one is required to take a long walk down the stairs to reach the farm.

Great place for children

It was after a heavy downpour that we reached this farm. All bees were in hiding. Only a few hangings outside of their hives. The place is quite large with lots of souvenirs and honey related products for sales, but we didn’t buy anything because we felt the honey products were a bit expensive. The garden where the bees were kept was a bit slippery due to rain. There were stairs and slopes which made it rather dangerous for old folks. Overall, it is a pleasant place to visit on a sunny day.

Ee Feng Gu Honeybee Farm, Bee farms is a novelty in Cameron Highlands, producing a modest range of delicious honey and derivative products for sale and show to visitors. Free to enter, these farms often combine their primary attraction with souvenir shops, vegetable markets and interactive activities for children. As local bee populations are not enough to sustain local supply, honey sold here is also sourced from wild and domestic sources all over Malaysia.

Learning experience for kids. There were honeybee boxes with bees buzzing around. Big models of bees were there in the garden. You need to walk down the stairway to reach the garden which could be bit difficult for the elderly.

DAY TRIP Around Cameron Highlands – Butterfly Farm and Butterfly Garden & Strawberry Farms

This was our last day in Cameron Highlands, so we decided to rent a scooter and drive ourselves around Cameron Highlands. Our first stop was strawberry farm, and I must say – it was such a fun experience! The area was huge with many facilities & activities, including, strawberry picking, cafeteria, flower gardens and much more. We had such a blast! Our second stop of the day was butterfly & insect farm. We could not believe that we got to hold so many different creatures, such as tarantulas, scorpions and even butterflies! We loved it all!

Our final stop of the day was bee gardens, which were also cute but not su fun as the other two farms that we visited. Overall, we had such an awesome day! We definitely recommend seeing strawberry farms and butterfly farms if you still got some time left during your trip at Cameron Highlands, you will not regret it!

Cameron Highlands Butterfly Farm and Butterfly Garden

Open daily: 8.30am-6.00pm. Tickets are MYR7 per adult and MYR4 for children. [2019 APRIL]. Butterfly Garden is a live insect gallery and zoological garden located at Kea Farm, nestled along the main road 3km after Brinchang town or 5km from Tanah Rata (just down the road from Copthorne Hotel).

One of Cameron Highland’s oldest tourist attractions, Butterfly Garden features a large enclosure erected along a hill slope that contains butterflies and live insects displayed in aquariums. Visitors may view beetles, mantis and phantasms of different shapes and sizes along with other native and exotic creatures. The park also has a tortoise pen, scorpion pond, reptile exhibit (mostly snakes and lizards), aviary and small petting zoo.
