Pantai Teluk Kemang Port Dickson

Teluk Kemang is the most popular beach destination of Port Dickson, and the largest in terms of facilities and infrastructure. Located between 7th and 8th mile of PD, Teluk Kemang is where most hotels, resorts and family apartments are concentrated. Tourist attractions within the vicinity include Baitul Hilal, Ostrich Farm and Pusat Ikan Hiasan.

The shoreline is spacious and draped with fine sand, varying between cream and ochre-colored hues while the immediate sea waters play host to a variety of motorized water sports. A large recreational zone along the beachfront provides gazebos, paved footpaths, car parks, walkways, shower facilities and even a large square with public stage. Souvenir shops, hawker stalls and restaurants comprise the rest.

Tanjung Tuan (Cape Rachado)

Cape Rachado, also known as Tanjung Tuan, is an 80-hectare nature reserve 18km south from Port Dickson town. This hilly cape is a gazetted wildlife sanctuary that features a historical lighthouse on its summit, picturesque bays and a fantastic viewpoint of PD’s coastline at Bukit Batu Putih. Administered by the state of Malacca, Cape Rachado is also a popular bird watching spot.

At the base of Cape Rachado sit two popular tourist beachside destinations; Blue Lagoon and Pantai Cermin, both situated directly opposite each other before the entrance. Sheltered from development, visitors can hike through jungle and scramble down hilly slopes to reach isolated beaches – each imbued with its own natural charisma and pristine scenery. Portuguese word for ‘Broken Cape’.

Cape Rachado in Port Dickson is named after the Portuguese word for ‘Broken Cape’. After conquering Malacca, the Portuguese colonial forces built a lighthouse at the peak in 1528, to guide friendly vessels to the port and keep an eye out for enemy ships. This historical lighthouse still stands here today, but with modern enhancements and adjoining radar transmitter that visitors can see.

Amazing View: From the peak, visitors have an amazing view of the sea, along with lush forest scenery below and magnificent granite outcrops along the coast. An outline of neighboring Sumatra can even be glimpsed on an exceptionally clear day. The seas here were also the site of an important naval engagement between Dutch and Portuguese forces in 1606, resulting in defeat for the latter.

The entrance to Cape Rachado starts after Blue Lagoon, next to Ilham Beach Resort. The paved road continues up to the lighthouse, but most will park outside as private vehicles are prohibited from entering. During the evening, this uphill road is frequented by joggers. From the lighthouse, visitors can access jungle trails that lead to hidden beaches, the most popular being the beach facing Pulau Intan island.

Another popular trail leads to Batu Putih, a viewpoint area that overlooks the PD coastline on a limestone outcrop. Keep an eye out for insects, mammals and birds as you trek through to the forest, as the area is fairly rich with wildlife. Entry to Cape Rachado during the day requires a small entrance fee at the gate.

Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon (Tanjung Biru) is a secluded bay at the base of Cape Rachado adjacent to Pantai Cermin Port Dickson, about 17km south of PD town. Hemmed in by a dense cover of lush vegetation and hilly forest, Blue Lagoon features a smaller but more dramatic beachfront, with a sweeping view of the bay that gleams between emerald green and deep blue depending on how the sun hits the sea water’s surface.

Because of its proximity to Tanjung Tuan Forest Reserve, wildlife sightings are common, including migratory birds, squirrels and monkeys. Recreational water sports are popular activities here, including banana boating, kayaking and the ocassional jet ski. At low tide, the shoreline reveals numerous sandbanks, pools and crab holes for children to explore.

Saujana Beach

Pantai Saujana Port Dickson is a best beach in Port Dickson Malaysia destination along 4th mile of Port Dickson, nestled between Bagan Pinang and Pantai Cahaya Negeri. A strategic location, the coastline is wide and spacious, making it popular for kite-flying activities. Camping is another favorite family activity, with public shower facilities available. At west end of Saujana lies a nice fishing spot and campsite.

A well-equipped park along the beachfront comes with gazebos, playgrounds and paved walkways shaded by lush greenery. A stretch of hawker stalls and food trucks also operate from evening onwards on part of the parking lot. Finally, there’s a trendy bar & restaurant called ‘La Playa’ that serves Western fusion cuisine along with drinks and live music at night.

Pantai Cermin

Pantai Cermin is a quiet beach destination directly behind Blue Lagoon Port Dickson, hidden away at the opposite side of Cape Rachado (Tanjung Tuan). The long strip of beach is spacious and peaceful but frequented less by visitors. Similiar to Teluk Kemang, the sand here is of an orange hue, but with a fine texture mixed with black ore deposits washed up by sea waves.

The waters are rather murky due to the muddy seabed, but it’s still clean, with a beautiful view of the rainforest and mangroves at its eastern edge. Two family hotels provide apartment accommodation at Pantai Cermin – Casa Rachado and Permaisuri Resort, while PNB Ilham Resort is at neighboring Blue Lagoon.
