DR Lakeside Park was earlier named Coronation Park after the crowning of the Queen the England. In the late 1960s, the Malayan government renamed the park to DR Lakeside Park in honour of D. R. Seenivasagam, a prominent politician and Member of Parliament in the 1960’s.

As a green lung in the heart of the city, its large quiet parks, turquoise lake and fresh air provides the public with relaxing environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

D.R. Seenivasagam Park, Ipoh: More Information

The D.R Seenivasagam recreational park comprises of a big area of different sections of things to do. Entering the park you see two fields, one on your left and right. Most of the time these fields are used for football games and other trainings. If you head on straight you can see the children’s playground.

Apart from the playground, there is also a cycling area where road signs and traffic lights are put up for a road experience. This cycling track is away from the actual road which is not only safer to ride on but also fun. If you don’t have a bicycle, you can rent one here too.

The park which was opened in the 1950s, was named after the famous lawyer D.R Seenivasagam who was known as a man who gave back much to the Perak people. Taman D.R has continued to be modified throughout the years by the Perak Government. In the 1980s, the Japanese Garden was officially open to public.

The garden is a mini version of the garden in Fukuoka, Japan. The trees and rocks are similar to the garden in Japan which is also known as the twin city of Perak.

You can also take in the view of this beautiful bridge that has been built over the pond. It is a peaceful place where you can spot family picnics, small get together and also couple retreats. The beautiful scenery leads many wedding photography session to take place here.

There are small fields all over the park. There is even a skateboard playing area beside the Japanese garden.

Sebenarnya kami tak rancang pun nak mai taman ni.. tapi tetiba saja my minni teringat nak bawak aku singgah ke taman ni.

So... Apa lagi.. Aku ambik peluang ni utk rakan video lah.. Boleh jugak jadi bahan utk aku share kat channel youtube aku ni kan..

Sebenarnya aku pun dah berkurun tak mai taman ni,yang satu masa dulu agak terkenal jugak bagi pelawat atau pelancong dari luar drp negeri Perak ni..

Seingat aku lah.. Kali terakhir pun aku pernah mai taman ni pun masa zaman jurassic park dulu.. Hahahaha.. Zaman aku sekolah rendah dulu laaa...

Cikgu buat rombongan pelajar2 sekolah aku untuk mai melawat negeri Perak Darul Rizzuan yg indah permai nihh..

Untuk video kali ini aku bagi peluang kat my minni untuk jadi penyampai info tak berelaun sebab dia adalah anak jati Ipoh mali tatak sombong munyerrr... Tapi macam biasalah kan..rakaman tampa dirancang awal ni tak lah sehebat macam production house dok buat semua tu kan.. Apa yang terlintas depan mata dan dalam minda.. Kami belasah saja lah..
